About Orcusville
Orcusville is a webcomic detailing the life of me– Lord Orcus– a no-longer barbate and ancient daemon-god of The Underworld who has returned to “raise his profile” amongst you filthy mortals. Aside from hiring saps who write long run-on sentences, I enjoy having my friends along for the ride and providing you wanting peons with accounts of my glorious nerdidom, which is most important.
Cast of Characters …so far
Lord Orcus: Me. I am the primary protagonist in my tale. Do you like it? You better. I’m also a hardcore gamer and comics fan.
Vissarionovich: An eternal demon of arbitrary retribution and strife, Vis is an attorney by trade. I hear this makes the torture he inflicts especially painful. Vis enjoys “voting” for right-wing politicians, strappado, racking, square dancing, Ann Coulter, and extra cilantro. Don’t get him wrong, though, he also likes tormenting right-wingers as well. His only friend is Victor.
Victor: Vis’ favorite torture participant. Vic appears to tolerate Vis even though he feels the demon could let up. Just a little. I like Vic. Little dude has heart. He’s also an avid Steampunk nut (because someone has to be) and fan of anything Victorian. Oh, and let’s not forget his penchant for heavy metal…
Doctor A. Thoth: The pan-dimensional ultimate Chaos Specialist of all multi-transreality– probably the best in the field. Um, as far as I want to know, anyway. Dr. Thoth is manifested in the physical realms by means of a small child’s handiwork and imagination. Yes, it’s okay to have The Fear. I do.
Velia Tarchnal: An immortal Etruscan princess, Velia has “been there and done that” quite a bit in her long, long life. She is a natural fit with Orcus and their other friends simply because, as Demogorgon once described her, “She’s a cute little raincloud of ‘die in a fire’”. I prefer to say she’s as cute as a razorblade button. Your unnoticed opinion may vary. Velia insisted that it be noted she is the only Mission UK fan to sack Rome. Twice. And no, she never gets sick of hearing that line.
Hack: The star of the upcoming strip of generic epic fantasy Hack’s Quest, he couldn’t stay away from Orcusville while his world is in development. Hack is an avid player of roguelike computer games, like ADOM, Nethack and so forth. He also prefers rpgs which net the maximum amount of carnage, such as AD&D and HackMaster.
Disclaimer: Any resemblance to anyone or anything, living or dead, fictional or not, is probably intentional. Please don’t sue me. For your own sake. Vis is a lawyer and he may have sex with you, otherwise.
