Just when we are getting over the sadness of losing Gary Gygax, another legendary figure who lives in the hearts and minds of all beings in all shades of reality has passed on into the afterlife. Arthur C. Clarke is a visionary genius who should be hailed as such for the very length of Forever. Even in death his incredibly honed mind stands proud.

Today’s comic was inspired by Mr. Clarke and the worlds he created– as well as by one of my favorite games of all time, Star Frontiers (which has a connection to Clarke, as some of you die-hards will most certainly know!). I had the diabolical mechanizations in place for it for a little while, but much like the now-changed (and still soon-to-be) Pain Amplifier installment, the timing of this one is just plain… well, it’s weird.

Good-bye, Sir Arthur. Hopefully, Gary can show you a few things in order to make the hereafter a bit more polyhedrally entertaining. Just remember: If you ask him to open the pod bay doors, you’re going to have to make your check. Roll high. And roll well.
